Two men die following motorway crash

Humberside Police have confirmed that two people have sadly died following a collision on the motorway near Goole yesterday.

The police today issued an appeal for witnesses following the fatal collision that occurred on the M62.  

The incident, which happened at approximately 9.50am on the eastbound carriageway of the motorway between junction 36 (Goole) and junction 37 (Howden), saw two HGVs and a car collide. 

A 54-year-old man who was driving the car, and a man, aged 53, who was driving one of the HGV’s, were sadly pronounced deceased at the scene. 

A 15-year-old girl was taken to hospital, where she remains in a serious condition. 

A Humberside Police spokesperson said: “The families of those who have loved lost ones have been informed and are currently being supported by specially trained officers, our thoughts are with them at this really difficult time.

“Our team would like to thank the members of the public who came to the assistance of those involved in the crash.” 

The police are now appealing for anyone who was driving in the area at the time that may have dashcam footage, or any witnesses to call their non-emergency number 101, quoting log 110 of 6 April.
